since half of them ended up at my house on friday and saturday nights i was given a very shining report card.
he then told me that he would knock on my door bright and early in the morning to take me to breakfast with him and his wife.
a couple of them told they enjoy the articles i write in the art magazines and they were really happy to meet me.
i gave him are really good thriller book to read today.
he got half way through it, was really into it, when i couldn't help myself.
i asked him, in light of this past sunday's watchtower, how can you read this book in good conscience.
Love all your comments!
if jehovah created the universe, knows it all, et cetera, and then he has a direct line to the governing body, how come you're always told to "wait on jehovah"?
can a simple earthling be faster in his or her reasoning than yhwh?
can s/he notice something jehovah will miss?.
LOL! Yes, lifeistooshort.

Yes, I've wondered why not just zap the problem already.
There was always a lame answer given.
It just proved to me that I am more morally sound than God is.
That led me to think that men created God.
That in turn led me to not believe in God at all, at least not the one from the Bible or any Swiss cheesed holy book.

truly tragic.
my heart is breaking for their daughter who witnessed the murder of her mother.
My goodness! Didn't this same thing happen a while back, too? The mom was shot to death by an X while she was trying to get away in a car and the daughter saw it?
How awful!
saudia arabia's all male shura council has enforced the ban on women driving stating that driving would encourage sex by allowing women greater freedom to mingle with men.. saudia arabia has set 2015 as the date when women can vote in municipal elections.. the quran makes statements about beating a wife, underage premenstral brides, and having multiple wives.. benazir bhuto was assasinated in her country.
hilary clinton is meeting with aung san suu kyi in myanmar (burma).. what are your views of islamic ruled countries and the chances for women's civil rights.
is it patronizing when the claim is made that the rules are for women's protection..
I hate their religion because of their views on women.
However, I respect the right of those who wish to follow it.
I will NEVER travel to a Muslim country.
I don't like those countries as they are right now.
I am prejudiced against their religion and government.
How could I not be?
However, I am not prejudiced against the people themselves.
i've been getting really into cooking lately!
i do have most of the same hobbies i had before, (i've always been into art and reading and watching movies and travelling) only now i can do them whenever and don't have to worry about meetings getting in the way or people telling me i spend too much time with "recreation.
".
Learning to knit, crochet things for others.
Creating things by hand is part of my pagan journey.
I love to read a lot of Steven King, John Grisham, Janet Evanovich, Stephenie Meyer, and Charlaine Harris, and Laura Ingalls Wilder.
Love my pets and love to cook, when there is someone to cook for.
I enjoy exploring the spiritual path that resonates with me best: Wicca.
I ride my bike and walk my dog.
Just acquired a cute little grey mouse.
So, I have a dog, cat, and mouse to keep me company.
Making friends without thought to their publisher record card or what their reputation is in the congregation (cuz they don't go!).
Have an awesome relationship with Egg and Spawn, now.
My life has never been richer since leaving the JW religion.
Here was my life in the JW's: Pulling teeth to get two kids ready for meetings they didn't want to go to.
Trying to force feed spiritual feces down their throats when they didn't want it.
Had a strained relationship with Egg and Spawn.
Pining away for a suitable mate. I still think about finding someone but no longer am depressed with it.
Attempting to be friends with people who didn't want to be friends with me, even though they were instant friends but weren't...huh?
Going out in service with a car load of old women who bitched about this and that and gossiped (slandered?) about anyone just to make themselves look good.
I was so depressed and angry.
we are adopting our fur baby tomorrow .
he is a jrt crossed with a chihuahua, age is approximately around 7 and he is gorgeous!.
he was rescued from a dog pound as he was due to be put to sleep, an angel saw him and took him home... he had been found tied to tree, left to die and had lost all of his fur... his fur is back now, just a patch missing off his tail... he had to have 13 teeth removed as they were rotten and causing him a lot of pain.
I love furbabies!
That's a good test, too.
Also, you can babysit someone's small child and see how the guy acts around her/him.
Either one is a good boy/girlfriend tester.
first time i got a chance to read his book, "combatting cult mind control" and was interested to see if jw's fell into the cult mold.
my opinion after carefully reading and having left the witnesses after almost 30 years is... no, they don't.
however, i would add that they wish they were but are simply too big and unwieldy to really pull it off.
I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that JW religion is a cult.
I also notice the similarities of the cult description to the military.
The difference is that the military is performing a necessary job and couldn't be effective if it wasn't the way it is.
Also, there is an honorable way to leave it.
